Kamala Beach Phuket is a beautiful long beach on the island of Phuket, Thailand.
Coming from the beaches in the north such as Laem Singh Beach or Surin Beach, the winding road leading to Kamala Beach will give you a first glimpse of the lengthy, half-moon shaped beach of Kamala. Once you passed the amazing Phuket Fantasea, one of the most visited entertainment venue in Thailand and definitely with what is called one of the “longest Buffet in South East Asia” The Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant is Asia’s biggest restaurant. It was inspired by 7 half-bird/half-angels called the Kinnarees, whose story is depicted in the “Fantasy of a Kingdom” show.
Guests from all over the world are invited to a Royal feast prepared and served by these mystical creatures, set against a background of the legendary Himmaphan Forest where the Kinnarees are known to reside. The theatre sits 3,000 people and is Asia´s largest permanent show facility. The stage is over 37 meters wide with side stages extending to an additional 24 meters on each end, making it the largest stage in Thailand.
While the more touristic part of Kamala is located on the beach side, the less enticing part of Kamala is the Muslim village which stretches from the main road to the hills, on the left site of the road when coming from Surin Beach.
When you arrive in Kamala from Patong Beach, we suggest you turn left as soon as possible, and then follow the road which carries the name “Millionaires Mile”, named as such for a reason that you will quickly understand when you slow down and see all the high-end developments built on the south side of Kamala.
The beach itself is a long half-moon shaped stretch of white sand, pristine water and plenty of areas to relax: leaving you with the choice between patches of sandy happiness in the sun or a spot closer to the newly built concrete beach walk. Kamala Beach has a relatively modest nightlife but still have the usual sports bars which will frequently offer live music and also serve happily as the venue for your birthday bash or any events which do not need a reason to celebrate 😉
Kamala Beach is 1.7 km long and about 25 meters wide. The north part is perfect for families as it is more quiet.
