Naka

Naka in Phuket
Naka is a village on the western edge of Phuket Town, just below Central Festival Phuket shopping complex. The area has some good houses and is primarily a residential area with several stores on the main road.

The main activity going on in the area is the weekend night market, the Chaofa Night Market (also called Naka Market), which runs Friday through Sunday.
The market is massive, selling everything from kid's toys to fruits, vegetables, and ready-made snacks of all kinds. There are also plenty of second-hand clothes displays, and games for kids to play. The market is, therefore, quite popular, with Google showing over 500 reviews averaging well over 4 out of 5 stars.
Naka Market sits on Wirat Hong Yok Street, running east-to-west, close to the intersection with Chao Fah Tawan Tok Street. Filled with every kind of shops and food stalls, at about 150 meters wide and 200 meters long, it's immense. It's somehow nearly impossible to miss it!

The market is not the only attraction in the Naka area. There is also a large Theravada Buddhist temple right across the street, the Wat Nakaram. It's open during daylight hours if ever you want to pop in and walk around.
