Yoga Republic

For those of you who like to stay fit while traveling or just need a little time to step back from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, Yoga Republic has a number yoga classes to help you relax and regain some inner peace. Located in Cherngtalay across from the McDonalds plaza, heading towards Surin Beach, this unique yoga studio offers four invigorating classes for each comfort and skill level as well as co-ed showers, juice bar, outside gazebo, indoor relaxation area and a retail store.

Classes are taught everyday and clients can choose from a wide array of package options, ranging from yearly membership to drop in classes. Clients can also choose which type of yoga suits them best on a class to class basis. The four classes currently offered at Yoga Republic are: Chill – a slower pace with longer pauses and deeper stretches that promote healthy bones and tissue; Fusion Flow – a combination of vinyasa/lyengar/yin that is suitable for all skill levels and allows more expression and fun as well as the chance to try more challenging poses; Silently Hot – a hot yang class with no dialogue that prompts focus on breathing and even flow from posture to posture; and finally Hot Yang – a combination of 26 postures coupled with pranyama breathing in a room heated to 38 degrees and designed to relieve stress, balance the glandular, nervous, digestive and circulatory system as well as reshape the muscles, tendons and posture.

The classes are led by Jack Farras, an experienced and energetic guide to relaxation,  peace and self awareness. Taught in a contemporary island style studio with state of the art heating system that heats the room without heating the air increasing the oxygen in the room up to 80 percent. Working closely with his friendly and knowledgeable staff to create their own style of yoga instruction, Jack and his team at Yoga Republic have created the perfect balance between atmosphere, teachings and technique that will leave you feeling energized, rejuvenated and overall happier after every visit.
