• For almost 15 years (1988 to 2004) Doctor Gerhard Melcher was a member of both the German national freestyle skiing team and the national German Olympic skiing team (freestyle skiing) and has become renowned both as an athlete and medical doctor. During this period he trained jointly with world class athletes at the Olympic training center in Munich and thus gained experience as part of their medical treatments.
