Chillva Market is a very popular street market in Phuket Town on the Island of Phuket.

This place draws people from all over Phuket Town, Chalong, Kathu or Samkong and is the perfect place to showcase your shopping and negotiation skills, in this relaxed atmosphere and novel approach that is the Chillva Market.

Even if the market would have opened on April 1st, we wouldn’t be able to call the Chillva Market a joke (April’s fool): it is the newest edition to a conglomerate of night and weekend markets … and boy … it’s thriving! Officially opened on April 31. 2016 it is a central point for all kind of garments such as skirts, shirts, hats and so on … everything from handmade items to shiny blings and accessories and …of course all kind of tongue-delights … food in all its variations … from sweet as sweet can be, to spicy as hell … obviously not for the locals 😉

Chillva Market is basically a shipping container park with a recently edited 1.5 rai of land for additional parking. You can also have the car parked at the nearby Tesco Lotus Shopping Mall and take a stroll to this marketplace. The Chillva Market is situated on Yaowarach Road, a few hundred meters away towards Phuket Town from the big Tesco Lotus intersection. After the intersection, there is one traffic light and then you will see it on the left-hand side.

There are three areas with two of them, the container shops and bars, opened every day, Monday to Sunday. The tent and the hawker stalls, the third area, are open and in full action on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. We recommend to visit the Chillva Market on the days when the three areas are open. When the flea market comes to town, setting up its tents and little hawker stalls, is when the market really comes alive and you can fully enjoy the experience. At the heart of the market is a small stage from where you’ll be entertained with all kind of shows as well as live music, whenever the market gets in full swing.
