Alex 2 Beach? Before you ask, no, we don’t have the slightest idea why this beach is named “Alex 2 Beach”! Maybe Alex discovered it, we’re just not sure. If you hear the story, do let us know.

If you’re keen on being able to tell your friends you spent the day at the southernmost beach on Phuket Island, jump in the car and head down to Alex 2 Beach. The beach is on the southeastern tip of the island, and it is not difficult to find. Just take Highway 3047 south to Soi Chado (road) and go toward the beach. The road is smaller than a one-lane road, and it looks like someone’s driveway. That’s part of what keeps the beach virtually free of visitors – and what you’re looking for if you want to spend the day in seclusion!

This is another small beach, like Pak Pahng next to it, with just 175 meters (191 yards) of sand. The beach area is small, not wide at all, with the widest section reaching just 16 meters. Alex 2 Beach is lined with trees and rocks. The rocks are large boulders on the west and east ends and are a lot of fun to explore. Sometimes you can find small tide pools in the rocks, with fish or crabs in them. Under the shallow water you’ll see numerous rocks with sharp barnacles and clams, so swimming and wading must be done with caution.

We counted just ten people on the entire beach in this video. If you go early morning, you’ll likely have Alex 2 Beach to yourself. Snorkeling at either end can be productive if you feel like exploring. Have fun!
