Lawa Island

Lawa Island, Phang Nga Bay
Koh Lawa is a 500 meter-long island in Phang Nga Bay. It can be found just to the northeast of Phuket Island. Located less than three kilometers away from Phuket, this tiny shark-tooth-shaped island is not hard to reach. You can easily access it from either Phuket or the southern tip of Phang Nga province, only 2 kilometers away.

To travel to Lawa Island from Patong Beach, you'll need to drive to the far northeast part of the island. First, go east on Highway 4029, then north on the 402, and then northeast on Highway 4027 across the Sarasin Bridge. Finally, once over the bridge, follow Highway 4031, which takes you to Laem Khat, where you'll jump a long-tail boat to the island, weather permitting, as sometimes the sea is a bit rough for the journey!
