Laem Singh Beach is located on the west coast between Kamala and Surin. It is a close to 180-meter wide sand stretch with deckchairs, umbrellas, restaurants and palm trees as well as giant boulders “hiding” in plain site in a little bay. You can have a look first from the newly built viewing platform, from where you can see the beach and understand that Laem translates into “cape” which geologically is called a headland with a bay and a beach at the bottom of the cape.

Being called one of the top secret beach in Phuket in the past, today it is not so secret anymore. Thanks to word of mouth and sites like TripAdvisor or Facebook the beach gained popularity with backpackers and holidaymakers alike. Even throughout the so-called “Green Season”, it can be quite crowded on the sunny days.The beach road which connects all the beaches of Patong, Kamala, Laem Singh and Surin, leads to car parks north and south of the entrance to access the Laem Singh Beach. Parking fee is 20 THB for a motorcycle and 40 THB for a car. The path from the road down to the Laem Singh Beach is quite steep and good footwear is recommended.

You will be rewarded with a beautiful beach with two very good restaurants. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be yours for 200 THB/day with access to a clean toilet, which at this remote location is a bonus. We also recommend trying out a real Thai massage on the beach: the soothing sound of the waves will surely contribute to the benefit of a good Thai massage, which will set you back 300 THB.

While many will choose to just hang out and relax between the trees all day, others might pick up some activities like trying out inflatable rafts and/or body boards which can be rented out at some of the restaurants; kayaks are also available.

On some Sunday there is even live Jazz music there.
