Wae island is a very small rocky island on the west shore of Phuket. Because of its lively sea world and the abundance of fish it is an ideal area for snorkeling and/or diving. In this part of the Andaman sea, through clean and pristine clear water, you can still see a lot of colorful corals as well as starfish living at the bottom of the ocean which, in this area, is 10 to 15 meters deep.
The Wae Island Tour is available from two different starting points: you can start your trip at Nai Thon Beach, which will mean a 20 to 30 minutes sea ride; or you can also get on the boat at Nai Yang Beach, which will take you on a 30 to 35 minutes ride as you will have to head first along the coastline to Nai Thon Beach. Be aware that all this timing is in relation with the hiring of a typical Thai long-tail boat for the journey to Wae Island.
The price for the boat trip, which includes equipment such as life jackets, snorkel and fins, depends on the actual size of the boat, the season (high or low), and will fluctuate between 2,500 and 4,000 Baht. The trips are designed for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 14 people. As the quality of the equipment does not always (sometime) meet the expectations of all visitors, we recommend that you bring your own if possible.
Along the way to the island, you will come across some modern hotel facilities as well as some beautiful unspoiled small sandy beaches which are (most of them) only accessible by sea.

I personally accompanied two German tourists starting the tour in Nai Yang Beach, and they were really thrilled and had a great time.
