Local Market Thalang

For many people, local markets are one of the allures of Thailand, and at least part of the reason so many people keep coming back to the country over and over again. If you’re currently vacationing in Phuket and want to find a local market, Thalang has one that is a little more convenient than most of the markets in the country because it’s covered! The entire Local Market Thalang is located under a concrete roof. This protects shoppers and vendors from the daily monsoon rains from May through October each year.

The Thalang Local Market is open daily. As most daily markets, this one has a tremendous amount of fresh fruits and vegetables, meat of all kinds and seafood such as local fish, squid, prawns, and mussels. Restaurant owners and food vendors shop for their food here because they can get good prices.

This Local Market Thalang is found close to the Buddhist temple ‘Wat Phra Nang Sang’ by the intersection of Highways 4030 and 402. Thalang is just west of the Tonsai Waterfall – a popular water attraction in Phuket.
