Khao Khad Views Tower

While it’s no secret Phuket is home to some of the most spectacular views and unique viewpoints to visit, there is one viewpoint that stands out among the rest: Khao Khad Views Tower. With it’s two level view tower and 360 degree views out over eastern and southern Phuket it’s not hard to see why this viewpoint is one of our favorite.

Also known as Panwa Viewpoint, this striking tourist attraction can be found on Phuket’s eastern coast by following the road that leads to Cape Panwa. Perched atop one of Phuket’s highest and most remote hilltop Khao Khad Views Tower offers visitors a unique viewing experience as well as ample parking, dining amenities and clean restroom facilities.

There are plenty of key maps in both Thai and English to help visitors understand what they are looking at and, as mentioned above,  a few restaurants and souvenir shops. Down the hill towards the beach is the aptly named Best Food Good View Restaurant and Bar where you can sit and enjoy a nice cold beer while gazing out over the Chalong Bay area.

While it’s not as large or as busy as some of the other viewpoints around the island it does boast the most unique vantage points and draw dropping views of Phuket. The walk to the tower is a bit of a daunting one with some two hundred concrete steps to climb though it is well worth the trek to the top as you get an impressive view of the Chalong Bay, the Big Buddha and on very clear days the Phang Nga Bay. For those who wish to get the perfect 360 snap we suggest to go to the top tier of the view tower as the views there are unmatched. With so many extraordinary things to see from here it really isn’t hard to understand why it was named Khao Khad Views Tower!
