Coconut Island, Phuket

Coconut Island (Ko Maphrao) in the Andaman Sea requires taking a vehicle across Phuket, if you’re staying in Patong Beach, then a boat for a short trip across the sea. You will find this small 3km long island almost directly east of Patong, on the opposite side of Phuket Island.

Ko Maphrao is easy to spot, sitting 2km north of Koh Sirey and 1.5km southwest of Koh Rang Yai. It can be seen just five kilometers off Phuket’s east coast, near a group of floating seafood restaurants.

You can reach it by taking Thepkrasattri Road in Phuket Town toward Laem Hin Seafood on the east coast. From there it is a five-minute long-tail boat ride to Coconut Island. The island itself has a couple of roads leading to various locations such as beaches, accommodation, and restaurants.
