Cherngtalay

The area called Cherngtalay is located next to Bangtao Beach on the northwest side of Phuket Island, north of Surin Beach and Layan Beach. The centre of Cherngtalay is Boat Avenue, and you can find the area easily on Google maps. Be aware that sometimes the spelling differs and you may see Choeng Thale on Google and on signs around Phuket. Same place! Cherngtalay is a large shopping district where there are hundreds of shops from souvenir stores to large supermarkets and clothes shopping centres. Of course, where there are shoppers, there is food – and there is a wide selection of fast-food restaurants, delicatessens, health food shops and plenty of street stalls where you can find grilled meats or seafood as well as fruits, fruit smoothies or fried snacks such as Roti. There are also some fine dining restaurants like Divino Tapas, The Frying Kiwi, Luca Cini, Iniala Kitchen & Bar and the SKYE Lake Club. Other shops you may recognize by name are Chaba, Bliss, Paul Ropp, Beerbox Avenue, Red Frog, Wings by hejselbjerg, PlastArt, Cozy Company and Fe2 Décor. If you don’t want to visit the stores, you can head straight for the big local market. They have all kind of food and drinks, snacks and desserts for you to try there. If you’re shopping for clothes, you can find something fashionable here too because vendors buy their items in Bangkok to resell here at the market. If you can't find a shopping spot you love in Layan, Bangtao Beach or Surin Beach, this is the place to go as it is so close by. You’re especially going to enjoy Boat Avenue and Lagoon Road.
