ATV Riding
Phuket Tourist Information Guide
Read Introduction
All Terrain Vehicle, or ATV riding, in Phuket is fun for a lot of people. The businesses below are staffed by ‘professional staff and guides,’ so should be safer than some unlicensed outfit. If you’re interested in finding out some more, have a quick read below!
Phuket ATV Park is over on the east side of Phuket Island, just northeast of Patong Beach and west of Phuket Town, near the Heroines monument.
Adventure rides are from one to two hours, and there are plenty of ATV’s to accommodate even larger groups of twenty. Rides traverse trails and hills of gravel, dirt, mud and rain-filled puddles. At the end of your ride you can cool off with refreshing drinks. If you wish, you can combine your ATV ride with zip-lining or elephant trekking. This company also has another location in Phang Nga province, just north of Phuket, where you can take 3-hour rides and combine it with whitewater rafting.
Another ATV riding option is Phuket Paradise Buggy and ATV in Chalong. They combine their ATV excursions with a host of other adventures: Big Buddha tour, Elephant trekking, Buggy riding (dune buggies), Horse riding and snake & monkey shows.
Up to two-hour rides are possible on their 200cc gas-operated all-terrain vehicles, and they include health insurance, helmet rental and raincoats in the fees. They offer pick-up from Patong, Kata and Karon; an extra fees apply for pick-ups outside these areas.
Please keep in mind, ATV riding is one of the most dangerous activities you can do on vacation. Better to go when the weather has been dry for a couple of days so most of the slippery spots can dry up!
