When someone recommends heading to the Phuket Golf Center, you might be surprised when you arrive. The name makes it sound like it’s a massive golf supply store or the golf course mecca of Phuket. It is neither, it is in fact a driving range.
Phuket Golf Center offers PGA Golf coaching instruction by the golf guru, Martin Platts, a former PGA player. Martin has taught golf for more than thirty years. His continued success is due to his excellent play and teaching skills, and also his ability to communicate to his golf students exactly what they need to do to hit the ball straighter. A master of the swing, he can improve your game with just one lesson.
Kids are welcome and can have a lot of fun whacking balls with a club – as you might imagine. Recently they introduced ‘Target Golf’ and ‘Football Golf’ for kids – both are big hits and give kids something to do if an adult is on the driving range or taking lessons.
The Phuket Golf Center has eighteen driving range areas and a green for putting and chipping. And if you want to practice hitting out of a sand bunker, they have that too.
Family waiting for the golfers to finish their sessions can enjoy the lounge’s two televisions and bar, or shop around the well-stocked golf store for new clubs, gloves, glasses, hats or golf bags.
Customers on TripAdvisor gave the facility a 4.5 average rating out of 5, with all reviewers rating it as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent.’
